Neptune Sailing's Thursday Group aims to develop students' skills, working towards RYA Advanced modules for higher level students. Theses include Spinnakers, Start Racing, Seamanship, etc. Students are expected to have good sailing skills, usually at Stage 4 and should be able to cope with a range of different wind strengths and situations.
The full range of craft at the centre are available to this group and RS Fevas have been very popular. Older members have the chance to use the Omegas, with their assymmetric spinnakers, as well as the 420s. The advanced stages do require more skills than earlier stages and teaching of background material is integrated into the sessions.
